FYR: The Lost Island was born out of a company initiative called PIT (Personal Improvement Time). PIT, now called FAFO (Fuck Around & Find Out) is a dedicated day every other week where team members are encouraged to explore new projects and level up skills. FYR: The Lost Island (Originally called Fyrtårnøya) was born from a game project that one of our Designs Leads, Adam Krupicka, was working on during his FAFO time. After developing an initial protoype and pitch for the fully realized version of the game, the team was impressed and decided to put more resources behind it. We created an initial vertical slice that we playtested in early 2024. After receiving funding in from Midtnorsk Filmsenter & Creative Europe, we revamped the project based off player feedback and pivoted the game away from the eerie walking simulator direction it was heading in and embraced more of the horror while maintaining the interactive storytelling and innovate usage of light.
Breach creates immersive games and interactive experiences using XR technologies:Â Virtual Reality (VR), Mixed Reality (MR) and Augmented Reality (AR). We are a work-for-hire studio that also makes our own games and products.
